Saturday Night Live, no stranger to mockery, has taken to mocking Elon Musk, who hosted the show last year, for his bid to buy Twitter.
The show, which has been on the air since 1975, used a Prince Harry and Meghan Markle joke to mock the billionaire over his proposal. Continue reading and we’ll fill you in on the details.
Elon Musk Roasted by SNL
According to Newsweek, while the Duke and Duchess traveled to the Netherlands this week the SNL comedians in their new home country took to mocking them about their relocation to the US. First, on the Weekend Update segment of the 93-minute April 16 episode of SNL, comedians Colin Jost and Michael Che took to poking fun at Elon Musk’s potential takeover of Twitter.
Jost pointed to Meghan and Prince Harry when he referenced why the Tesla mogul would bother trying to acquire Twitter. “Come on, Elon built electric cars,” the comedian said. “He’s going to Mars. Why is he even involving himself with Twitter? It would be like if the Prince of England gave it all up just to marry an actor from Suits.”
Jost concluded with a joke about him buying a defunct Staten Island Ferry with Pete Davidson. He said, “Twitter’s not even profitable anymore,” adding that “it just feels like a bad business decision. And I say that as someone who just bought a ferry with Pete.”
Duke And Duchess No Stranger To SNL Jokes
This, of course, isn’t the first time Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have found themselves on the SNL agenda. But it does appear to be the first time for Meghan to take the humorous heat. In 2018, just after the couple’s televised wedding, a Weekend Update took aim at the couple, but Harry took the burn.

“This weekend, Suits actress Meghan Markle married some unemployed dude who still lives with his grandma,” Michael Che joked in that segment. More recently, in his April 2021, SNL monologue, Daniel Kaluuya pointed to a controversial revelation from Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying, “Let me reassure you that I am Black,” adding, “I’m Black and I’m British. Basically, I am what the royal family was worried the baby would look like.”
Fans will recall that, in the actual interview, the royal couple had said that a member of the royal family had “expressed concerns” about what their future children’s skin tone would be. Be sure and stay up to date on all Royal Family News and return here often for more spoilers and updates.
