South Park Slammed For Mocking Prince Harry And Meghan Markle In Their Latest Episode

It looks like not everyone was a fan of South Park’s latest episode in which they seemingly mocked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with a fictional prince and princess of Canada.

During the episode, the creators of South Park lampooned the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by making it look like they were hypocrites when it came to them wanting privacy. They also made fun of Harry’s book, Spare, and called it, “Waaagh.” Here’s what you need to know.

South Park Slammed For Mocking Prince Harry And Meghan Markle In Their Latest Episode

The episode was called “The Worldwide Privacy Tour,” and featured a fictional Canadian prince and wife that looked, talked and certainly acted like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The couple travel around the world demanding privacy but at the same time go on fictional talk shows like ‘Good Morning Canada,’ while promoting the prince’s book. During Good Morning Canada, the prince tells the host, “We just want to be normal people – all this attention is so hard.”

South Park

Many royal fans and critics alike commented on the matter with, “The idea that South Park is a good measure of what even a large number of Americans think is actually fully delusional.

I am not using that word as an exaggeration or a metaphor,” along with, “I think this says less about the popularity of the Sussexes in the US and more about South Park’s attempt to stay relevant and part of the water cooler talk. They’ve gotten more headlines out of this episode based on what I ‘ve seen so far than they have in a while.”

What’s Next For Harry And Meghan?

Another critic wrote, “Family Guy will be next if they haven’t already made fun of them. This is the path shows like that take to stay relevant after they know their best years of writing and being socially relevant and topical are behind them. I’m sure they do still have an audience, and maybe it’s my age range but I don’t know anyone that still watches or discusses that show. Just like Family Guy, and (sadly to me) The Simpsons.”
