He didn’t exactly break the internet, but the son of Sophie, the Countess of Wessex and Prince Edward has ignited a firestorm of sorts over his appearance. What caused the online frenzy among royal watchers?

On ITV’s Lorraine program, Lorraine Kelly and Russell Myers discussed what they termed the “grown-up” appearance of Sophie and Edward’s son James, Viscount Severn. He was seen in a picture with his parents and sister this week as the family picked up trash on a Portsmouth beach.

Royal Fans Flocked Online To Discuss The Change In Appearance Of Sophie And Edward’s Son

Kelly kicked off the conversation by saying that, “Sophie and Edward have been doing their bit. Gosh, that is the first time I have seen the little boy,” to which Myers replied, “He is getting so big, 12 years old now.”

He then noted that Sophie and Edward’s daughter, “Louise is 16 years old, they are growing up so much.”

Then continued to talk about the picture with Kelly asking, “Is that Edward with a clipboard?” and the other host answering, “Yes, he looks like a geography teacher.”

The Wessex’s were out on a beach in Portsmouth picking up litter

When it was pointed out that the family was picking up litter from the beautiful area Kelly said, “Good for them.”

Myers replied, “Yes, we all need to do our bit, we all need to act responsibly. The royals are putting their best foot forward.”

Plenty of royal fans were also impressed with the family and the effort they made to beautify the area. One fan posted on Instagram, that not only was it wonderful for the family to be pitching in but that it was also, “Nice to see James, Viscount Severn and Lady Louise join their parents.”

That sentiment was echoed by someone else who wrote, “The Earl and his family are lovely people…..I do enjoy reading about them. Bless them.”

Continuing to comment about the family, one fan gushed about them but noted, “They may not be as photogenic as some of the other Royals but they look happy and contented. Way more important.”

And still, another made it a point to include James in the conversation by noting, “He looks like a cute shy boy!”

The family was dressed casually for the day and did look as though they enjoyed the beach and each other.
