Maybe it’s the queue to end all queues that lasted for hours. Maybe it’s the way the Queen’s death brought Brits together. Or it could be because the new King Charles did something magical in his first few days of reign. Whatever it is, support for the Monarchy has been steadily increasing, instead of the opposite, as expected.
A few Brits may still not value the wisdom of King Charles the III because of the drama with Princess Diana, but the recent poll show that more people are willing to give him a chance. Who better to rule than the man who has spent 73 years of his life preparing for it?
More People Support King Charles Now Than They Did Before the Queen’s Death
According to a recent poll which surveyed 1000 adult Brits, 47 percent believe Britain will be worse if they abolish the monarchy: an increase from 42 percent who previously thought so when the poll was taken in June.
On the other side of the fence, 22 percent believe that abolishing the monarchy will readily improve the UK. It was a slight decline from the 23 percent who previously thought so.
Regarding the number of years people expect the monarchy to still remain, a vast majority (56 percent) said that it should last for at least 50 years or more, up from 45 percent in March this year.

The number of people who are optimistic about Charles’ reign also enjoyed an increase from 49 percent to an above average of 61 percent, nearly level with the number of people who believe that his son and heir will do a good job.
Speaking on the support the Brits have bestowed on King Charles the III, Kelly Beaver, chief executive of Ipsos, the company that conducted the survey, said: “King Charles starts his reign with the majority of Britons optimistic that he will make a good King and an increased belief in the longevity of the monarchy.”
