The New Problem Going Forward For The Cambridges And Sussexes

It looks like the rift between Prince William and Kate Middleton with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hasn’t fully healed just yet. Reports do indicate that the Cambridges and the Sussexes are looking to fix things between them now that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis all have a new cousin named Archie Harrison to play with.

But it appears as though the Cambridges and Sussexes are still competing for attention. At least, when it comes to their social media posts. Here’s what you need to know.

A lot of royal fans believed that Prince William and Kate Middleton might have purposely stolen Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s thunder on their one-year anniversary date.

That’s because they decided to post rare photos of their three children and even clips of the kids speaking for the first time on Instagram. The posts came just a few hours after Harry and Mehan posted their own never before seen pics from their wedding day.

So does this mean that the Cambridges are competing with the Sussexes for attention? Perhaps.

“It seems like, why would you release photographs that [the newspapers] all want to run, it seems like there’s a bit of a clash. I think this is going to be the problem moving forward,” royal commentator Camilla Tomliney  told Britain’s This Morning in an interview.

With that said, Harry and Meghan are being advised to not overshadow Kate Middleton and Prince William in public. And that’s mostly for just one reason: William will be the future King of England one day and Kate will become Queen Consort. So no matter how you look at it, William and Kate will always be considered just a little more important than Harry and Meghan.

“William and Kate are a future king and queen who want to remain relevant and don’t want to be overshadowed. The Sussex’s have a sprinkling of stardust because of transatlantic nature of their relationship and the glamour of Meghan,” Tomliney added.

“But they’re much further down the pecking order. So how do they maintain their relevance? So what you have is a couple not wanting to be overshadowed, and a couple not wanting to be sidelined. It means that they’re both trying to push their message forward.”
