This is when the Queen supposedly scolded Princess Anne for not greeting Trump. According to a report via New York Post, Queen Elizabeth II was caught giving Princess Anne the side eye for not greeting President Trump and first lady Melania Trump during the first day of the NATO Summit in London. The 93-year-old was seen warmly greeting the president. So did Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla.

After the two chatted, the monarch caught her daughter standing near the doorway, not even acknowledging Trump. The Queen looked over and gave her a sideways glance. Anne didn’t seem to care. She shrugged off the dilemma and laughed off the exchange. Some royal fans called Anne “sassy,” while others claimed the Queen gave her daughter major shade.

It seems like the video in question is up for interpretation. Some noticed that Anne didn’t want to be near Trump. While others thought that Anne was purposely dissing the American president. Others seem to believe that the Queen was only asking Anne who was next in line to greet. She appears to be saying “just me” along with the shrug. A body-language expert who goes by the name Judi James told the Daily Mail that “the Queen appeared to ‘wave’ to her daughter, as if signaling she should come over and join the conversation, or continue the procession.”

Princess Anne simply “shrugged” at her mother. That could speculate she didn’t want to move along until Trump was far ahead. Fans of Netflix’s The Crown know that Anne is the down to earth member of the Royal Family. She didn’t let her royal title get to her head. She’s also known as the “hardest-working royal” by the British press for taking on more “engagements” than other family members.
