The Royal Family Will Hunker Down In Separate Locales For The Holidays This Year

The Royal FamilyBritish royal family news teases that silence just might be golden for Queen Elizabeth during the holidays this year. Will the sounds of silence be music to her ears? At least one royal watcher is predicting that after the tumult of 2020, a bit of quietude is just what the queen needs.

For starters, as one former staffer notes, Prince William and Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are putting an end to 2020 as it began for them, with lots of water in between them.

Will Queen Elizabeth Be “Happy For A Quieter Household” During The Holidays This Year?

For the royals, just like families across the globe, the holidays will be much different this year than last year thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Each country is handling the pandemic with a different set of lockdown rules and in the UK updated governmental guidelines will inform how people will celebrate during the nation’s second lockdown. Nonetheless, Her Majesty will find that the normal traditions and festive events will be scaled down.

A source told People Magazine that Prince William and Kate are, “are waiting to hear [about U.K. government guidelines] just like everyone else,” in order to ascertain if they can travel. “The children miss their great-granny, but it’s the same rules for them as everyone.”

Will The Queen Get To See Her Grandchildren Louis, George, And Charlotte This Year?

Queen Elizabeth is isolating in Windsor Castle with her husband Prince Philip and has not decided whether to stay put or head to her Sandringham Estate in Norfolk for a more traditional Christmas and New Year’s holiday.
For their part, William, Kate, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are likely to remain in Sandringham at their Anmer Hall mansion. And what of Harry, Meghan, and their 1-year-old son Archie?

It’s a safe bet they will not be anywhere near a figgy pudding this year. The plan is for them to hunker down in their enormous mansion, bought with Netflix money, and perhaps invite over Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland.
The Markle’ are ready for their first American Thanksgiving in the U.S.

It has not been an easy year for the Queen who has had to deal with Megxit as well as the well-publicized reported estrangement between grandsons William and Harry. All in all, according to the former staffer, Her Majesty, “might want a rest — you never know. She might be happier for a quieter household this year.”

This family has had enough COVID, one holiday alone is not the end of the world.

Bless the Queens heart. What her family is missing will never be able to recapture. So sad.
