Canada joined the Commonwealth in 1931, which means that as monarch King Charles is symbolic head of the country.

According to the Mirror, the dates have not been announced, but the trip remains on the schedule following Charles’ operation.

The royal couple are expected to tour the country for a week, and it comes one year after his visit in conjunction with his May 2023 coronation.

When Prince William and Princess Catherine visited in 2011, some citizens protested the monarchy.

Which is why royal experts believe that Charles needs to spend significant time there: “The last thing they would need would be just a quick appearance in Ontario, maybe B.C.” said royal expert Justin Vovk told CBC News. He added “If he really is King of Canada, a cross-country tour would really be in his best interests.”
