And now The Voice host Carson Daly has described how Meghan directed him when he served as the moderator at a summit. Keep reading for all the details.
Meghan Markle – Orders Carson Daly To Hug Her
The Voice host Carson Daly just spilled one of Meghan Markle’s secrets. And Daly described how Meghan directed his actions at the recent Archewell summit. But Daly admitted that he did worry about royal protocol via Us.

Daly, 50, took on the position of moderator for a talk with the Duchess of Sussex, 42, and Prince Harry, 38, amid their Archewell Foundation summit in New York City. But The Voice host admitted that he felt unsure about the royal rules. And he explained that he “didn’t know whether to curtsy or hug, like, what’s the royal rules and whatnot.”
However, Meghan took on the task of directing Carson. And he shared how Meghan staged their hug. “Meghan [said], ‘Bring it in,’ [with a] big hug.”
Carson Daly hosted the inaugural gala for Project Healthy Minds @ProjHealthyMind, a nonprofit focused on removing the stigma around mental health, where he detailed his own mental health journey.

Meghan Markle – Describes ‘Baptism By Fire’
However, the Duchess of Sussex has shared her own challenges in following royal protocol. And Meghan recalled how she felt when Harry, 38, began dating her in 2017. “Joining this family, I knew that there was a protocol for how things were done,” commented the Duchess of Sussex in the documentary series Harry & Meghan.
And the Suits actress added, “Do you remember that old movie The Princess Diaries with Anne Hathaway? There’s no class [where] some person goes, ‘Sit like this. Cross your legs like this. Use this fork. Don’t do this, curtsy then, wear this kind of hat’.”
As a result, Meghan “needed to learn a lot, including the national anthem.” And she described dating Harry and meeting the royal family as “baptism by fire.” However, since stepping down from her senior royal family duties, the Duchess of Sussex has prioritized motherhood.
And at the summit, the parents of Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2, talked to parents who struggled with their children’s use of social media. However, Prince Harry shared, “For myself and my wife, with kids growing up in a digital age, the priority here is to again turn pain into purpose.” And the Duke of Sussex shared he wanted to offer “support as well as a spotlight and a platform for these parents.” Harry hoped that the families would also “collectively focus on solutions so that no other family anywhere has to go through what they’ve been through.”
