In the Channel 5 documentary called ‘Thomas Markle: My Story,’ Meghan Markle’s estranged fathers makes it no secret that he has money on his mind. As a matter of fact, he hinted that the only way he will stop talking to the press or charging for media interviews is if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘pay him off,’ so to speak.
The senior Markle put it this way, “At this point, they owe me. The royals owe me. Harry owes me, Meghan owes me. What I’ve been through I should be rewarded for. My daughter told me that when I reach my senior years she’ll take care of me. I’m in my senior years now, it’s time to look after Daddy.”
If that weren’t’ enough, Thomas has also repeated over and over again that he helped finance Meghan Markle’s private school education and helped her get into Northwestern University during her college years. However, the last time that Meghan Markle reportedly spoke to her father was right before her royal wedding to Prince Harry back in 2018.
Thomas said the reason why he couldn’t make it to the wedding was because of a supposed heartache only a few days before the ceremony, which would have made it hard for him to fly from Los Angeles to London. It’s been noted that the only person present at the wedding from Meghan Markle’s side of the family was her mother, Doria Ragland.
So far both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not made any comments about the documentary but at this point, it doesn’t look like they will be reconciling anytime soon. In fact, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex won’t be visiting anyone in the near future as they are settling into their new lives in Vancouver, away from both the royal family and Meghan’s estranged family.
