Meghan Markle and Prince Harry love the spotlight. But the Duchess and Duke of Sussex got no love from Tom Cruise as he observed their antics. And the couple’s quest for fame seems cringe-worthy to Cruise, reported OK magazine.

After watching Meghan and Harry repeatedly try to find ways to boost their visibility, Tom no longer wants to be a member of their inner circle. And the actor feels stunned by the way the two keep trying to get articles about them in the media, shared an insider. “Tom has followed Harry and Meghan’s saga very closely,” explained the source. “And [he feels] shocked by it all.”

Cruise actually used to count himself among the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s fans, according to the insider. And at one point, he debated about inviting Meghan to take a role in one of his films. But Markle’s quest for fame ruined that plan.

And the source described how Cruise now feels about Meghan and Harry. Tom “used to be a big fan of theirs, Meghan’s in particular,” shared the insider. “And [he] even considered getting her involved in one of his movies.”

Cruise had planned to support Meghan, 41, and Harry, 38, when they first made their move to the United States. And he looked forward to working with Markle especially. But after seeing her behavior, that plan got trashed, shared the source. And instead, Tom now supports Prince William, 40, and Kate Middleton, 40.

“Meghan and Harry seem seriously envious that they’ve lost out on this Hollywood friendship,” noted the insider. “But he’s just the latest in a long line of power players who’ve given them the cold shoulder!” In contrast, Cruise became friends with Queen Elizabeth before her death. “The Queen let it be known that she was really disappointed not to have met Tom at the pageant,” explained a source. As a result, the actor received a coveted invitation for a special tour of the castle. And he enjoyed tea with Queen Elizabeth after his tour.
