What Happens To Queen Elizabeth After Brexit?

Is Queen Elizabeth going to catch a ride out of town if members of Britain’s government fail to reach a deal in their Brexit plan? That’s what some reports are suggesting as apparently Queen Elizabeth will be evacuating London if there is no deal. There are about 50 days remaining until Britain is set to withdraw from the European Union. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Vanity Fair, several outlets have reported that there have been “emergency preparations” put in place, should the Queen need to leave London. This is just in case the 92-year-old monarch is put in any sort of danger.

“These emergency evacuation plans have been in existence since the Cold War, but have now been repurposed in the event of civil disorder following a no-deal Brexit,” an unidentified Cabinet Office official told the Sunday Times.

Seeing how Queen Elizabeth has survived World War II along with all of the ups and downs that she’s witnessed during her reign, even royal observers know that she will manage to weather the storm that is currently known as Brexit.

With that being said though, the Queen of England did make some subtle hunts about Brexit during her most recent speech on January 25th, which is quite unusual for a royal family member. She urged Brits to “respect different points of view” and to “come together to seek out the common ground.”

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any additional comments about Queen Elizabeth’s next step or what her Brexit game plan will be. For now, it looks like she it’s business as usual for her behind palace doors.
