Royal Family news reveals that there is a larger appetite for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the US than there is in the UK, and they’ve been making good use of it with several projects in the works, maybe even hitting US commercial TV at a sprint. Continue reading and we’ll spill the Earl Grey.
Royal Family News – Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Already An American Hit
Royal Family news reveals that, according to MARCA, Harry and Meghan have been busy bees in the past year, launching several media projects. If sales and ratings are any measure, all of these projects have been largely successful.
The royal couple’s Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, was reportedly one of the most watched shows for the streaming giant. Prince Harry’s Spare sold more than three million copies worldwide, 1.5 million in the US alone – in just the first week.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Many US-Based Projects
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also have more projects down the pike with some of the same media companies, including the “Live to Lead” documentary for Netflix, a show inspired by Nelson Mandela. Now, according to PR expert Mayah Riaz, the duke and duchess will likely move into more mainstream television in the US.
“It would be naive to not expect Harry and Meghan to make a commercial move post their Netflix series and ‘Spare‘,” Riaz told The Mirror. “The Netflix series was tailored for the American audience, and it shows that there is an appetite for the Duke and Duchess in the states.
“Meghan had a career before moving into the Royal Family. Now that they are not working Royals, should this mean that she should not make a move back into TV? I don’t think so. She may not take a role in a long-running series. However, I absolutely can see her making a cameo.”
A Greater Preference For Prince Harry And Meghan Markle
Riaz went on to say that Harry and Meghan need to bring in income and they know that there is a better chance of success in the USA when compared with the UK. “They need to work, as their security bill runs into the millions and they, rightly so, are not taking a penny from UK taxpayers,” she said.
“They very much know who their audience is and they are catering for a non-UK audience – we saw that from the Netflix series.” This comes amid news that Harry and Meghan have hired their good friend Ellen DeGeneres’ broker Adam Lilling who has reportedly worked with Nicole Kidman.
