British royal family news reveals that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are two of the most intensely disliked people in the stratosphere.
Think that’s opinion? Nope, take a look at popularity polls and you will see that the world has voted, and kept receipts. Here’s what to know about the ugly downfall of the Duke and Duchess of UnSussexful.
How Did It Happen?
Hank and Skank left the Royal Family in 2020 and married in 2018. Somewhere in between, things began to fall apart in the court of public opinion.
Let’s take the birth of their first child Archie in May 2019. They were uber secretive about the royal progeny, and that didn’t sit well with the public.
There was no conventional public photo call after the birth and afterward they broke tradition by not revealing the identities of Archie’s godparents, or the name of the hospital.
In October 18, 2019 Meghan followed up her faux pas with the notorious South Africa interview where she was mad that no one asked her if she “was okay.”
Failure Timeline
On January 8, 2020 Megxit was announced on social media with many believing that the Queen was blindsided.
Then came the stinky March 7, 2021 bombshell Oprah interview where 13 million people in Britain watched Hank and Skank lie about his and her families, with outrageous fibs immediately debunked—like the Archbishop denying that he secretly married the pair three days before the official wedding.
On June 4, 2021 Harry’s second child Lilibet was born and her name caused controversy because they called her the Queen’s private nickname. Who does that?
According to Daily Mail “Royal experts at the time believed the Queen would be ‘desperately unhappy’ that Harry and Meghan used her ‘very private’ and ‘special’ nickname.”
Meghan’s Incredible Stink Bombs
Fast forward to September 25, 2021, where Meghan had the gall to visit a Harlem school for underprivileged kids in a £5,575 outfit, a place where “94 per cent of the children … qualified for free meals.”
Even worse, on May 27, 2022 Meghan used the scene of a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas as PR move, taking a camera crew to film her “laying a bouquet of white roses at a makeshift memorial, but her spokesperson insisted she was attending in a personal capacity as a mother.”
On December 8, 2022 Harry and Meghan’s Netflix reality show saw them belittling the royals and saying that Harry was “’literally brought up’ by a ‘second family’ in Africa and there was a ‘huge level of unconscious bias.’”
No one will ever forget “giggling Meghan” mocking the Queen with a pretend curtsy while Harry smirked next to her.
Problem after Problem
In January 10, 2023 Harry published his memoir Spare including Kathrine’s private texts and his account of his loss of virginity.
Then, on July 12, 2024 Dirty Harry accepted the Pat Tillman Award despite veteran outrage, named for Pat Tillman an NFL player and late US Army Ranger who died in Afghanistan in 2004 due to friendly fire. Pat’s own mother dint want Harry to get it, but he did so anyway.
It should come as no surprise that “Despite their unpopularity, they are not the most disliked members of the family. That dishonour belongs to Prince Andrew, who has a negative rating of 86 per cent and a positive view of only 5 per cent” in a YouGov poll.
