Royal Family News: Why British Media Shaded Meghan Markle On Kate Middleton’s Birthday?

British royal family news shows that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, turned 40 on Sunday, January 9. In the days leading up to the milestone moment her name was in the news for her good deeds, excellent character and the fact that she was not Meghan Markle. What shape would the monarchy be in if the former game show hostess was in line to be queen consort asked one royal watcher? Shudder. And perish the thought.

Royal Family News – Kate Just Turned 40

Tom Bower couldn’t help dissing Princess Pinocchio in an opinion piece for The Sun. The headline read: “Kate Middleton is the jewel in Royal Family crown Princess Diana would be proud of.” Noting wrong there. The entire royal clan seem to be proud of scandal free Kate. Kate has never done a globally televised interview with Oprah Winfrey for the purpose of trashing her husband’s family, nor has she been accused of mocking the queen as Meghan was when she turned 40.

Bower recognized Middleton as an “icon” and noted that Markle was known for her “tantrums.” He remarked it was, “Britain’s good fortune,” that Kate, not Megs, is the nation’s future queen. Right now Kate is in the catbird seat and Meghan is in the hot seat. She is the subject of an ongoing palace investigation into bullying. Several former staff members claim she did not treat them appropriately leading to the need for a formal investigation. Meghan responded by throwing a pity party: she is the target of a “calculated smear campaign.”

“Kate makes modesty sexy and attractive,” Bower writes. “That discretion confirms that Kate is genuine while everything Meghan has done smacks of insincerity.”

Bower was not the only who compared the royal rivals on the occasion of Kate’s big day.

Royal author Marlene Koenig previously told Insider, “that photos … might have been used strategically to support this narrative.”

She added, “The British press picks up something, the way they look at each other, it’s ‘Oh, they hate each other.’ But that’s a photo frame. You go to the next photo frame and they’re smiling.”

Journalist Stephanie Guerilus tweeted that the tabloids used Middleton’s birthday, “as an opportunity to put Markle down.”

Finally, royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Insider that Middleton would likely “frown upon” the Meghan bashing. “Both women are eager for their families to heal and although I know Catherine was disappointed by the mention of her name in the Oprah interview, she knows that their family is stronger united than divided.”
