Why Does Meghan Markle Look So … Different?

British royal family news shows that Meghan Sussex Markle has a brand-new podcast that may never see the light of day given her track record. Her first podcast with Lemonada Media is called Confessions of a Female Founder.

A trailer drops on March 25 and the first episode appears on April 8. It comes after her Netflix cookery show debut ‘With Love, Meghan’ on March 4.

On her Instagram account Meghan revealed the podcast cover work showing her in a blue blouse and what passes as a thoughtful look at the camera. It has social media talking about Meghan’s new visual incarnation and here’s what you need to know.

Why Does Meghan Look So Different?

According to the Daily Mail, the pensive gaze is “a far cry from Meghan’s Hollywood glam from her Suits days.” In those days Meghan was a siren with troweled on makeup, but her barely there lingerie look in Deal or No Deal was even vampier. Or was it campier?

The oulet notes that in the latest lewk, Meghan wears “minimal makeup, no jewellery, and pulling her locks back into a simple low ponytail, Meghan seems to be signalling in a new era with her pared-back look.”

Make-up artist Sabrina Dubois calls the lewk a more relaxed, approachable vibe “similar to Gwyneth Paltrow” but branding expert Emily Austen thinks that Meghan is “changing so often it feels inauthentic.”

Sabrina said the look is a “pivot … Now she’s embracing a stripped-back aesthetic that signals she’s here for real conversations, not just curated perfection. It’s a smart move that makes her feel more down-to-earth and in touch with her audience.”

Meghan Going For Demure These Days

Not everyone likes the new Meghan, with one poster saying her “best look would be to stay at home and keep the front door closed.”

Another wrote “If only her humble Father was still able to sit her down, tell her she’s not the Messiah and her fantasies are just that, fantasies” while a third asked “Are the Lemonada bosses on a professional suicide mission?”
