UK Royal Family fans know one year ago this month Meghan Markle hit the publisher of the Mail on Sunday, Associated Newspaper, with a lawsuit claiming invasion of privacy. How the Duchess of Sussex knew they violated her privacy is up for debate since she claims not to be aware of what others say or write about her—which might be a sticking point in court.
That’s not the only thing fishy about Meghan’s actions and now a brand and reputation management expert is advising that she walk away before she becomes the biggest loser.
British Royal Family News: Is her lawsuit against Associated Newspaper Hurting Meghan’s Brand?
The trial will open on January 11 and last for over a week. But Meghan has already lost two key skirmishes and one expert warns she should, “get out of this epic-scale mess” before it sends her brand farther down the toilet.
Eric Schiffer is the chairman of Reputation Management Consultants and he thinks her perceived attempts to limit media scrutiny and squash public attention are having the opposite effect.
He told Express.co.uk, “Losing the skirmishes on the legal side doesn’t necessarily hurt her as a speaker. However, what it does becomes another indicator of her very challenged and combustible relationship with the press – which is not good for her brand.”
Will Meghan Markle End Pp The Loser In her January Court Date?
He claims that she is at risk for the so-called “Streisand Effect,” which happens when media and public scrutiny are intensified when one tries to restrict it.
If this is the case, he thinks this boomerang effect will hurt Meghan in the end. “The Sussexes’ goal, trying to slow down press negativity, has only created a bigger level of desire by the media to report,” he claims and it would be hard to prove him wrong.
Will The Media Back Off Meghan Markle Because She Has Filed A Lawsuit?
On top of their lawsuit, she and Harry announced they would no longer cooperate with five British tabloids, “There will be no corroboration and zero engagement. This is also a policy being instated for their communications team, in order to protect that team from the side of the industry that readers never see.”
Schiffer sees all of the petulant pushback as, “rat poison” to the couple’s brand and, “You will have even more Meghan stories. She is now inviting more scrutiny.”
He adds, “the media is not going to fall off the planet because she has filed a lawsuit, they will just source even tighter.”

How can they stand themselves? Fibbing all the time and thinking Harry should be king not William. Shameless.
