Will 2022 Be Any Better for The Scandalized Royal Family?

Royal Family British royal family news reveals that 2021 has been a turbulent one for the royal family. Life has its ups and downs and some years are inevitably better than others. In the annals of royal history this year will not stand out as spectacularly good. There was Megxit to contend with, the death of Prince Philip, and the glaring accusations brought against Prince Andrew.

Royal Family News – The Royals Have Had A Troubling Year

Will 2022 be any better? Royal expert and biographer Penny Junor notes that as bad as 2021 has been for the Royal Family, 2022 may not be much better. It will be the year that the clan celebrate the Platinum Jubilee an event to commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years as monarch. But already there are dark clouds on the horizon indicating that 2022 could be a bumpy ride.

Junor said in an interview, “One thing after another has hit them. And I think it’s been a very damaging year for them.”

The double whammy wrought by Harry and Andrew was the most damaging according to Junor.

The first blow came with what Prince Harry and Meghan have tried to do to his family and the institution of the monarchy. They have all but declared war, ranting on talk shows about perceived sins against them, many of which have been shown to have no merit.

The second circumstance is the civil case brought against Prince Andrew and the stain of his friendship with dead convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Junor said, “Neither of these problems is going away any time soon, I don’t think, and Harry is promising his memoirs [in 2022], which must be hanging over the family like the sword of Damocles. Who knows what he’s going to say. Who knows what his truth is.”

On top of the family members trying their best to bring dishonor and shade to the monarchy, the 95-year old Queen lost her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip in April.

Toronto-based royal author and historian Carolyn Harris said of the funeral, “Those images of the Queen sitting alone in her mask at Prince Philip’s funeral became more widely iconic of the COVID-19 pandemic for those who had lost loved ones.”

And yet it should be noted that this year the royals also welcomed four great-grandchildren proving that the circle of life never truly ends.
