In fact, there have been many indications that Meghan might go back into the entertainment industry. For example, even before Prince Harry and Meghan left their royal duties behind, Prince Harry was hitting up Bob Iger, the former CEO of Disney for voiceover work on his wife’s behalf. (This was considered in bad taste by many in the royal family.) That said, bad taste or not, it didn’t stop Harry from trying to drum up work in the acting world for Meghan.
Whether due to Harry’s efforts or not, Disney did end up working with Meghan on a documentary, and she did, in fact, lend her voice to the project. Following that, and as Harry and Meghan began the process of stepping away from The Firm and the duties associated with it, Meghan began accepting meetings with film producers and her old acting agents. There was a lot of talk in some circles of Meghan driving for some type of ensemble project, perhaps a romantic comedy, where she could start making her comeback as an American film and television star.
The actions of Prince Harry and Meghan have tended to back up the idea of Meghan going back to acting even more than this, however. Not only did they leave the U.K. (temporarily dwelling on Vancouver Island), but Harry and Meghan chose Los Angeles, the home of filmmaking in America, as their new home. In fact, they were seen many times checking out real estate in Malibu where price tags for houses run in the range of $15 Million. Most know that without a Royal paycheck, neither Harry nor Meghan can afford such costly houses unless one of them has a new source of income.
Seeing as Harry has no profession outside of the charitable work he used to engage in as a Royal, it apparently falls to Meghan to bring home the bacon. (A huge slab of the stuff, really.)
Now, there are rumors that some within certain TV shows such as Dancing With the Stars might be reaching out to the Duchess of Sussex. That’s because Meghan would literally be one of the highest-profile celebrities the show has ever booked. Of course, it would be a win for the show’s producers, but would it be a win for Meghan?
Some think not. In fact, “Dancing With the Stars” is kind of like the show where washed-up celebs go in a sad attempt to stay relevant and on the minds of fans. Meghan doesn’t need to step down. At the moment, everyone is talking about Harry and Meghan’s move to Los Angeles. Everyone is talking about Harry and Meghan’s new charity, “Archewall.” The former royal couple is on the minds of tabloids all over the place.
If anything, Meghan should seize the moment and capitalize on the publicity she’s received since returning to America. There have to be plenty of shows that would accept Meghan as a series regular and that could pay a salary that’s sure to be a hefty raise from her days as “Rachel” on the hit TV series, “Suits.”
