This will be Donald and Melania’s first official trip to London, although the President is considering it a “working trip.” Either way, the First couple will not visit Buckingham Palace during their time in London, nor will they receive a military welcome.
They will however visit Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle. It will be the first time that Melania Trump will visit the Queen of England, although she has met members of the British royal family before. Melania Trump was Prince Harry’s guest at the Invictus Awards in Toronto last year.

Now as far as what Melania will be expected to do and not to do during her visit, royal etiquette experts say that she should definitely curtsey to the Queen or at least bow her head. She can also shake the Queen’s hand or do a combination of both, but that’s only if Queen Elizabeth offers to shake her hands with Melania first.
With that being said, Melania shouldn’t put her hands on Queen Elizabeth whatsoever. Back in 2009, former First Lady Michelle Obama famously put her arm around the Queen while posing for a photograph together.
