British royal family news reveals the shocking assertion that the only chance Princes William Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry Duke of Sussex have to squash beef is, “if something happened to Catherine or Meghan.” Yikes, that is awfully drastic, isn’t it? Who said such a thing about the royal couples who reportedly are currently estranged?

According to this royal expert, the broken relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William will not be fixed unless a nasty happenstance happens to their wives.

Ingrid Seward is the editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine and she said on the Mirror’s Pod Save The Queen podcast that only drastic action will fix the brothers’ relationship.

Seward believes that Megxit was so damaging that only an epic shakeup will fix things. She has written about the royals for years and said an “awful tragedy,” would have to take place to help the brothers find their way back to each other.

She thinks that Prince Harry’s decision to leave the royals also took a toll on his relationship with his grandfather Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

According to Sewell, Phillip sees Megxit as no less than a “dereliction of duty.” He cannot understand their determination to strike on their own, and why they had to strike back at the royal family in order to do so. “I rather doubt that they will ever get back to how they used to be,” she said. “I really don’t think so. I think that’s probably a broken relationship.”

She added, “I think perhaps if something happened to Catherine or Meghan Markle, the boys would be together again. But as long as their ladies are there and their families are there….”

Will A Dire Tragedy Bring Back Princes William And Harry’s brotherly relationship?

Seward did note, “that is a really personal point of view and I might not be right.”

Royal biographer Robert Lacey wrote Battle of Brothers about the estranged princes and he also has harsh words for the pair. The royal watcher told Vanity Fair’s Katie Nicholl that trying to bring Harry back into the fold would be Prince William‘s biggest challenge.

“The challenge for William is whether while being true to his principles he can also modernize the institution by making his brother part of it. That’s what everyone wants, some kind of reconciliation,” he said.

But he doesn’t sound optimistic about this happening, saying, “At the end of the day we saw a ruthlessness from the Queen over her absolute refusal to allow the Sussexes to use the word royal for their new branding, and we’re seeing the same ruthlessness in William.”
