British Royal News: Will Princess Beatrice And Princess Eugenie Play Bigger Roles Post-Megxit?
Several years ago Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice’s own father Prince Andrew had hoped to elevate his daughters’ status within the royal family. Unfortunately, that did not happen as Prince Charles wanted to keep the focus on his immediate family, which included Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry at the time. What’s more, Prince Charles has also made it no secret that he wants to downsize the royal family and minimize costs in the future, which meant that there would be no room for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to take on more senior roles in the family.
But now that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have stepped down from their positions, does this mean that we will be seeing more of Eugenie and Beatrice in the limelight? According to Express.co.uk, not necessarily. In fact, a new poll suggests that the majority of the British public do not believe that it is necessary for Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice to pick up the slack from Harry and Meghan. While they don’t agree with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to ‘Megxit,’ they don’t think that the royals should receive more than what they are already receiving from public funding.

With that said, it doesn’t appear as though Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie will downplay the roles that they already have. What’s more, Princess Beatrice will be in the spotlight for a different reason this year, and that’s because she is getting ready to tie the knot with her fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, this summer. Now, whether or not Princess Harry and Meghan Markle will make it to the wedding remains to be seen.
