At 93 years old, Queen Elizabeth is still very much in control. It has been a difficult year filled with many scandals. One of these included Prince Andrew’s BBC interview in which he spoke about his friendship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died from an apparent suicide earlier this year.
However, it is stated that the queen made a vow in her early years that she would sit at the throne and rule over the country for the rest of her days. It seems she is still committed to keeping that promise.
The Royal Family Scoffs at Possible Retirement
Recently, People magazine reported that Robert Jobson wrote a biography that teased her possible retirement at age 95.
“One senior aide told me that the Queen has given the matter of her passing hears considerable thought and believes, that, if she is still alive at ninety-five she will consider passing the reign to Charles.”
However, Town & Country magazine reported that the Royal Family has responded to rumors of Queen Elizabeth retiring.
“There are no plans for any change in arrangements at the age of 95—or any other age.”
No Intention of Handing Over Throne
Other reports state similar findings. That Queen Elizabeth made a vow that she intends to keep for the rest of her days. Plus, she is still quite capable of making decisions and ruling over the land. After dealing with Prince Andrew’s scandal, she went about other Royal business and social engagements with ease. It seems she is not only dedicated to serving the throne for the rest of her life, but is quite capable of doing so.
What do you think of Queen Elizabeth still ruling at age 93? Do you believe she will continue being in charge until the end of her days?
