Officially titled ‘Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart’, the series debuts on Tuesday, July 8, with new episodes released weekly until September 30. The podcast promises to take a deep dive into the fandom, legacy and “enduring appeal” of daytime drama.
While it is being launched by CBS, the series will cover both old and new soaps from a variety of outlets.
In fact, some upcoming shows will feature Maurice Benard (General Hospital’s Sonny Corinthos), Eva LaRue (GH’s Natalia Ramirez, who was also on All My Children, Santa Barbara, and Y&R), Marc Cherry (creator, writer, Desperate Housewives), as well as Cameron Mathison (GH’s Drew Cain, who’s also a Great American Family star and was once on All My Children).
In addition, CBS stars will also participate in episodes, including, Tracey Bregman (Y&R’s Lauren Fenmore), Scott Clifton (B&B’s Liam Spencer), Christian LeBlanc (Y&R’s Michael Baldwin), Karla Mosley (Beyond the Gates’s Dani Dupree), Melody Thomas Scott (Y&R’s Nikki Newman), Lawrence Saint-Victor (B&B’s Carter Walton), Tamara Tunie (BTG’s Anita Dupree), and Heather Tom (B&B’s Katie Logan).

With that said, Y&R’s Eric Braeden, who plays Victor Newman, will be the first guest on Soapy, which will premiere on July 8, followed by DOOL’s Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) on July 15.
Meanwhile, BTG’s Executive Producer, Sheila Ducksworth, will be on the July 22 show, and Y&R’s Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair) will be on July 29.
‘Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart’ will be found on Audacy or wherever podcasts are available. In addition, full video episodes will be streamed each week on CBS’s YouTube Channel.
