Grant Rutter’s new audio soap, Montecito, returns this week with a brand new episode which is available now wherever you stream your podcasts.
The morning after the new beach club’s opening is about as action-packed as the night before. Mina Rast-Granville (Chelsea Rendon) is just about to be released from the hospital after being tased by Bethany Gina Roman-Quinn (Emme Rylan). Mina had been outside fighting with JJ Roman (Mike Manning), who was still inside his house, when Bethany Gina came home.
She thought that Mina was an intruder due to a string of burglaries that had happened in the area, and proceeded to tase her. Mina hit her head, but appears to have gotten lucky.
Her husband, Deacon Granville (Peter Porte), shows up at the hospital and the couple trades barbs over everything. He brags about his reunion with Gio Carreri (Marc Anthony Samuel) while scolding Mina for her fling with JJ Roman. She thinks that they are even since they both have a side piece.
After Deacon leaves, Mina wanders off to visit with her father who has been in a coma for years, and she fills him in on everything that has happened in the last 24 hours with business. Meanwhile, Deacon sends a text to their son, Diego, telling him about his big night and how much he wishes he had been there.

Bethany Gina Confronts JJ About His Drinking
Bethany Gina and JJ catch up once daylight hits. She explains that she tased Mina because she feared that she was a burglar trying to break into JJ’s wing of the house.
Their conversation quickly turns towards his behavior. Bethany Gina wants to know exactly what happened with their house manager, Delores, who had been with them forever. More importantly though, she wants to discuss JJ’s alcoholism.
JJ deflects as she confronts him about being labeled the “Frat Boy CEO” in the press. Bethany Gina is worried about all of the European energy projects that have already been cleared, and whether or not her brother can handle them. She tells him that the company board members want a meeting to discuss whether or not he is a suitable CEO.
Mina And Bethany Gina Clash
A fight between Mina and Bethany Gina was probably inevitable, but Bethany Gina did try to extend an olive branch while visiting the hospital. Mina is anxiously waiting for her discharge papers when Bethany Gina tries to apologize.
She explains about mistaking her for a burglar, but Mina doesn’t want to hear it. She tells her that although they are releasing her, she will need to come back to the hospital because she hit her head.
Bethany Gina again apologizes and reiterates that she was just trying to defend her property. She turns the conversation to JJ and tells Mina that she would like to put this incident behind them so that they can help her brother.
A very hostile Mina says there is no way that she will help Bethany to puppet her brother. Mina claims that she already plays a big role in JJ’s personal and business life. Bethany Gina takes issue with part of that, insisting that the family business has nothing to do with Mina.
She interrupts Bethany to tell her that she has crossed the wrong person. She may still press charges against her, it’s game on.
