As fans have seen on the reality TV show, Ed’s online romance with Rosemarie concerned his family and friends. It wasn’t just the 31-year age difference that was an issue, though. The reality personality was sending gifts to the Philippines on a weekly basis. He admitted in one episode that he has spent around $5,000 on gifts and shipping.

The person that reacted the strongest to Ed’s relationship is his daughter. She even stopped speaking to him. However, the two did have a chance to reconnect as he was leaving for his trip to the Philippines.

Speaking to Fox News, Ed said after he got back from his trip, he had a good conversation with his daughter. It seems that the two have smoothed things over. However, he made an interesting comment that implies he might have decided not to move forward with Rosemarie,

“And, you know, we both agreed. You know, it’s not a good idea to date somebody that young. But she wants me to be happy.”

It wouldn’t be the first time that a woman has used her child to get financial support. In fact, Ed made a worrisome comment when talking about Prince. It suggests he might be taking care of the child,

“… I did know in my heart that she did want another girl. But for me at 54, I’m happy to take care… of Prince, her 4-year-old son.”
