90 Day Fiancé Spoilers: Big Ed Addresses Haters After Leg-Shaving Backlash

Social media fans were not impressed with Big Ed after he asked Rosemarie to shave her legs.

Ed Brown, or Big Ed as he is known, has been a controversial character on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days over his treatment of Rosemarie “Rose” Vega, his young Filipino girlfriend. He has been bombarded with backlash since he arrived in the Philippines, mainly for being too controlling.

Since Big Ed arrived in the Philippines, he has received a lot of social media hate for the way he treats Rose. This includes the fact that he lied about his height and asked Rose to get an STD test, while not having done this himself. Then he gives Rose a “romantic” massage in his hotel room which goes wrong after he tells Rose she should shave her legs.

The incident happened after Big Ed wanted to do something nice for Rose. When she arrived in his hotel room, he first asked her to shower. He had ordered champagne and had oil handy so he could give the Filipino a relaxing foot massage, which quite frankly freaked viewers out.

During the massage Ed notices Rose has hairy legs and he tells her to shave them. Rose seems shocked or confused by his request, so he continued by saying he doesn’t like hairy legs. Big Ed tells Rose she must shave her legs, or alternatively give him a kiss. Unfortunately, or fortunately, for Ed, Rose decides to shave her legs, believing this to be the lesser of two evils.

Fans were horrified at Big Ed requesting Rose to shave her legs, on top of all the other requests he has made of her.

One wrote on Twitter: “Big Ed finds a 23-year-old to date and then he demands she take an std test…then he sleeps with her and then tells her to shave her legs bc it’s gross??? She needs to tell him he ain’t no George Cloney [sic] either. Big Ed has no chill”

Another wrote, “Big Ed and shoulders gotta lot of nerve criticizing unshaven legs for someone who has no neck, lied about his height by 6” and uses mayo as a conditioner.”

Big Ed received such a heavy backlash for his request he eventually decided to open up to fans.
Ed told US Weekly, Sunday wasn’t a good morning for him, as he woke up to all the haters on social media. He said he had asked Rose to shave her legs and fans were upset by that.

Ed said he had a chat with his daughter, Tiffany said it was “completely normal.” She says she lives in San Diego where everyone goes to the beach and people “laser their legs.” Tiffany added it wasn’t something she was really used to.

Of course, the latest upset comes after Big Ed took a lot of hate for asking Rose to take an STD test. Again, Tiffany has gone to Ed’s help in finding out where he went wrong. He said Tiffany wasn’t judging him.

Tiffany explained “hindsight’s 2020,” telling her dad if he had gotten the test himself before leaving the US, he could have asked Rose naturally to take an STD test, showing her he had already done this. This would have been a far more appropriate thing to do. Ed said he obviously didn’t handle that well at all.

Meanwhile, Big Ed says he did take an STD test shortly after returning to the US, which came back “clean.”

90 Day Fiancé Spoilers – Big Ed Brown’s Daughter Is A Great Help

With Tiffany being around the same age as Rose (which obviously upset her at first), she is able to help him see where he could have done things differently. Big Ed said Tiffany gave him the best possible advice, but because he wasn’t talking to his daughter at the time, he wasn’t always able to get feedback in time before making each faux pas.

Ed says he wished he had handled things a lot differently, but added that they made up, so everything is good.
