90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days fans watched Lisa Hamme dress up in traditional Nigerian gear for her visit to Usman’s family. The couple was hoping Usman’s mother would give her blessing for them to marry.

It is uncertain why some fans are surprised that Usman’s mother didn’t give the couple their blessing. Let’s face it, Baby Girl has three strikes against her. 1. She is American, 2. She’s white and 3. She’s old enough to be Sojaboy’s mother.

The Nigerian rapper, 30, met Lisa, 52, on social media after she finalized her divorce. Usman chose to pursue her via Facebook Messenger. Hamme didn’t expect their online relationship to turn into an engagement. However, two years down the line, she flew to Nigeria to meet him.

As expected by many, Usman eventually admitted getting engaged to Lisa was an “opportunity” for him to move to America to further his budding career as a rapper. While many fans were not taken aback by this, they were surprised he so openly expressed his wish.

During their meeting, Usman’s Nigerian mom hardly spoke two words. However, it was very clear that she would not accept Lisa as a wife for her son.

Lisa Hamme traveled to Nigeria for Usman Umar’s mom’s approval

Lisa traveled to Nigeria to meet Usman’s family for the sole purpose of getting permission from the rapper’s mother for them to marry. She tried her best to meet all the strict Nigerian standards, including wearing the traditional Nigerian dress and head covering.

Lisa knew everything was against her, and Usman also knew deep down his mother would not give her permission.

90 Day Fiancé: Lisa swallows her pride to visit Usman’s home town

Last Sunday’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé showed Lisa keeping quiet during the taxi ride to her Nigerian fiancé’s home town. Once there, it was clear Usman’s village was small and consisted mostly of dirt roads and small shacks for homes. Definitely not something the Pennsylvania resident was used to.

Soon after they arrived, Usman and Lisa met his family – his mother and older sister, as well as sisters-in-law. All women wore the traditional Nigerian long dresses as well as headscarves in the Muslim tradition of the country.

Lisa managed to keep quiet, but fans noted a smirk on her face, which likely didn’t go down well with the family. Usman told his mother their intentions, while his older sister cut him off at every stage, saying no before their mother could respond.

When Usman looked at his mom, she looked unhappy and also replied in the negative. She explained to the cameras that the American woman was not part of their tribe.

After it was clear the meeting was not going well, Usman suggested he and Lisa should leave and return to the hotel. As they climbed into the car, Lisa finally opened her mouth, criticizing Usman for not make better plans for the meeting. She said he had two years to plan this.

Meanwhile, 90 Day Fiancé fans were thankful Usman’s mother had said no to their union, as they consider Lisa as being too controlling in the relationship. They can only imagine what he’s going through his mother’s head at all the worldwide exposure over their strange relationship.
