All American: Homecoming Season 3 is set to premiere on Monday July 8th, but sadly there’s some bad news. This will be the final season of the high-school football spinoff. Keep reading for all the details!
All American Spinoff Cancelled
All American: Homecoming followed a group of athletes at a prestigious all black university. The cast includes some up-and-coming stars like Keisha McCalla, Amara Patterson, Cam Watkins, Thea Mays, Marcus Turner, Lando Johnson, and more.
Sadly, the spinoff didn’t seem to bring in as many viewers as the original All American show, and The CW has confirmed that Homecoming is officially cancelled.
Executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll released an official statement after news of the cancellation broke.
Carroll expressed sadness that the network was opting not to renew All American: Homecoming and thanked the cast and crew for all their hard work the last three seasons on The CW.
Goodbye Bringston Lions
Carroll wrote, “I’m devastated to learn that All American: Homecoming will not be moving forward with more episodes and that this new season premiering in July will be our final one. However, I am so very grateful to have worked with this incredible cast and crew, led by Geffri Maya, to bring the authentic HBCU experience to your screens for the last three seasons.”
The CW appears to be cleaning house. All American: Homecoming isn’t the only axed series, just last month the network announced that Walker (the Walker Texas Ranger reboot) was also cancelled after its fourth season.
At least we get so see Simone Hicks and the Bringston Lions crew one last time this summer! Are you looking forward to All American: Homecoming’s final season?
