No More Live Feeds In Big Brother Canada

Big brother Canada left fans and everyone who has ever watched a Big Brother Show shocked and confused when they announced that they wouldn’t be sharing any live feeds in this new season 11, making many fans disappointed and already bidding them adieu, having hooked us all by letting us keep a constant watchful eye on the crazy shenanigans the housemates get up to.

Following Big Brother US’ 24/7 live feeds showing a lot of sexist, racist, and homophobic comments made by some of the housemates, CBS had to address the issue due to the backlash and outrage, despite hoping that the issue would die down eventually.

This problem even had some of the guests’ lives affected outside of work, losing their jobs due to their derogatory comments, like season 15’s Spencer Clawson, GinaMarie Zimmerman, Aaryn Gries, and Amanda Zuckerman, among others, and some like Paloma Aguilar in season 24, even self evicted due to developing mental health issues, which she says stem from being constantly watched and filmed.

Big Changes For Big Brother Canada

According to Entertainment Weekly, Digital dailies are uncut content from inside the BBCAN house, offering viewers an extended peak into the houseguests’ lives. What many are speculating and complaining about is the fact that this would mean moderated content despite it being described as uncut. Others argue that we still enjoy moderated content in other reality shows, so why should this be any different?

Mental healthcare being a forefront for many companies following hurtful comments from viewers or trolls on social media, BBCAN producers reiterate they are after safekeeping their houseguests’ mental well-being, as well as their production team, and in general working towards fostering a safe working space for the BBCAN family.

Big Brother’s Spoilers – Biggest Selling Point Was Providing Unedited Content

Big Brother’s biggest selling point was providing unedited content, and this could pose a challenge to viewership ratings. We can sit back and watch to see if this new method will be adapted into other Big Brother versions like the US, with season 25 set to premiere in the Summer.

It would also be interesting to watch the upcoming season of Big Brother Canada premiering on the 8th of March 2023, especially the stats on the first Digital Daily for us who thrived on the unadulterated drama and only watched them for the fights and insults, as what they will choose to air. Stay tuned for more BBCAN updates! Come back here often for news about ratings and new shows.
