Bobby Flay Dishes On Food Network Future

Bobby Flay Bobby Flay just gave his fans a reason to count an extra blessing this Thanksgiving. The celebrity chef dished up some extra tasty tidbits about what lies ahead for Flay at the Food Network. Bobby’s announcement comes amid concern about his current contract expiring at the end of 2021. 

And living up to his reputation for finishing off his dishes with extra touches, the celebrity chef added some extra spice to his contract update. Bobby just revealed plans for an exciting new show with his daughter Sophie. Get the full dish, including what awaits the chef’s fans on TV in 2022, below. 

Bobby Flay Ends Food Network Suspense

Food Network viewers as well as fans of Bobby Flay have worried that his current contract would end without any extension. But now, just weeks before the expiration of that deal, Flay inked a new contract to stay with the cable giant, per TV Line. As a result of the new contract, Bobby will continue for three more years at Food Network.

And the new contract opens the kitchen door for the celebrity chef to go beyond Food Network. The cable network revealed plans for Flay to cook up new content for other Discovery brands as well. For instance, next year, Bobby plans to work with his daughter Sophie. The dad and daughter duo will star in a new series, called Bobby and Sophie on the Coast

‘Foodie TV’ Future

As for the celebrity chef himself, Flay expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity. “I’m thrilled to extend my relationship with Food Network and Discovery,” gushed Bobby. “We can now build on an already rock-solid foundation. Stay tuned for some incredibly exciting new shows as I promise to take food and cooking to places we’ve never imagined before.”

And although Flay and Food Network initially argued over his contract, the celebrity chef emphasized his belief that the cable company feels like an “amazing family” with a “great foundation.” Looking ahead, Flay expressed his determination to grow and expand. And he also promised new and exciting series at Discovery.

“I’m going to be pitching a lot of things that we haven’t seen when it comes to this kind of programming. I’m ready to turn the page and create a new chapter of what [foodie TV] is going to look like,” added Bobby. To date, Flay’s Food Network series highlights have included Throwdown With Bobby Flay, Brunch @ Bobby’s, Worst Cooks in America, Bobby’s Dinner Battle, and Beat Bobby Flay. In addition, the celebrity chef has judged food competition shows such as Chopped and The Next Food Network Star.
