Chicago Fire May Have Teased Severide Exit

Chicago Fire spoilers, news, and updates tease how Lieutenant Kelly Severide, played by Taylor Kinney, would exit the show. The fans knew that Lieutenant Kelly Severide would temporarily exit the show, and the network may have revealed how it would play out.

Early this year, it was revealed that Kinney took a leave of absence. No explanation was revealed on why the actor needed a break. There were also no details as to when the fans would see the last of Lieutenant Severide, but the 14th episode of the current season indicates that it is soon.

In the episode, he was seen at Molly’s with his wife, Lieutenant Stella Kidd (played by Miranda Rae Mayo).

She approached him and said that she got his message about Captain Van Meter (played by Tom Hopper). Earlier, Sergeant Platt (played by Amy Norton) tried to give him a file, but Platt’s husband, Mouch (played by Christian Stolte), took it over. But Severide was just in the background as Mouch elaborates his discovery.

Going back to Molly’s, Severide showed his phone to his wife. His wife asked him what he was going to do, but he didn’t answer.

Some speculate that Van Meter may be asking him to help him with an investigation. And this could mean that this investigation may be off-screen, which would explain his absence from the show. It was already laid out that Severide is loyal to Van Meter, and if the captain needs something from him, it’s hard for him to decline.

Taylor Kinney has been with the NBC series since 2012. He also appeared in a few episodes of Chicago Med, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Justice, which are all part of the Chicago franchise of the network. He also appeared in several movies, such as The Forest, The Other Woman, and Consumed.

In 2011, he appeared in the music video Yoü & I by Lady Gaga. The same year, Kinney began dating Lady Gaga. The relationship lasted for five years. They got engaged after three years since they started dating but eventually broke up a year after the engagement.

The most recent exit on the series was Jesse Spencer’s, who played Matthew Casey in the show from the beginning. He left the show in 2021.

It would be hard to see Kinney go, but fans hope that this is just really temporary. He’s been part of the show since the very beginning, and it would feel incomplete for the show to continue without him.
