Chicago Fire season 9 left us with a cliffhanger. And some fans worried that the unresolved finale could mean the end of Lieutenant Kelly Severide, played by Taylor Kinney.
But now, just before the season 10 Chicago Fire premiere, Kinney dropped some clues about what will happen to Severide in upcoming episodes.
Find out what the Chicago Fire actor just revealed below, from the premiere episode to the “heartbreakers” ahead for “Chi-fi fans.”
Chicago Fire Season 10 Spoilers – What Happens To Severide?
The Chicago Fire season 9 finale left us wondering who would survive getting trapped in that sinking boat.
But although we could see no way to escape, the fact that Taylor Kinney (Lieutenant Kelly Severide) just gave an interview to TV Insider about season 10 offers some reassurance.
And Kinney even promised that the Chicago Fire Season 10 initial episodes will quickly tie up the loose threads in that cliffhanger. “We pick up where we left off,” said the actor. “And for people who are die-hard Chi-fi fans, it’s really exciting.”
In addition to talking about the cliffhanger resolution, Taylor teased some possible spoilers about his character’s love life. For instance, Kinney shared that his relationship with Lt. Stella Kid (Miranda Rae Mayo) makes Severide “a happy camper right now.”
He also admitted that feeling happy is a rather new emotion for the Chicago Fire character after experiencing a “roller coaster ride” in his personal life for so long.
Chicago Fire Season 10 Spoilers – Promises ‘Heartbreakers’
In addition to discussing what happens to his character Lieutenant Kelly Severide, Taylor Kinney and other cast members dropped some clues about additional Chicago Fire plot twists.
For instance, Lieutenant Christopher Hermann (played by David Eisenberg) could bear the brunt of major changes at Firehouse 51.
That shakeup may result from popular Chief Battalion Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) opting for a promotion. Such a boost in title and pay could mean the Chief exits Firehouse 51 and heads to a new station.

“We’re all getting up there in age and then opportunity comes by and he leaves me,” teased the actor. “This is a show full of heartbreakers!”
And Taylor Kinney couldn’t resist teasing a plot twist that would really take Chicago Fire in a new direction. Kinney joked that the story line will reveal Severide thirsting for Hermann throughout their joint time at the firehouse.
“Some spoilers are just fun,” admitted the actor. So will the fun continue? We’ll have to wait for Wednesday, September 22, the date chosen by NBC to kick off the new season of Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med.
