Chicago Fire Spoilers – So, When Can We Expect Fresh Content From Chicago Fire?

Since April 3, fans of Chicago Fire have been eagerly awaiting a new episode, but unfortunately, there hasn’t been one yet since “Something About Her” aired.

Instead of new episodes, the show has been airing reruns at its regular time slot, and it’s not just Chicago Fire, all the shows under the One Chicago umbrella are affected.

Chicago Med and Chicago PD haven’t had any new shows either, just reruns, and it’s been nearly a month since they aired new episodes as well.

But the good news is, The One Chicago shows are set to make a comeback on television starting May 1, just about a month after the last episode aired.

From then on, fresh episodes will be aired weekly until the season finale at the end of May, strategically planned to ensure the season wraps up as usual in May.

One Chicago Spoilers – Blame The Writers’ Strike!

Due to the challenges faced during the writers and actors strikes last year, shows like Chicago Fire and others in the Chicago franchise have shorter seasons this time around.

As a matter of fact, all broadcast primetime programs have had much shorter seasons because of the writers’ strike.

Unlike the soap operas, whose different union contract a different set of rules allowed replacement writers, the primetime shows did not.

Viewers may recall that the strike went on several months, the longest in many years, and even then there were unwanted but necessary compromises.

Chicago Fire Spoilers: Fans Sometimes Don’t Understand The Behind The Scenes Issues

But fans sometimes don’t understand the behind the scenes issues such as writers’ strikes, all they want to do is see their shows, and new episodes!

Fans flooded social media with their frustration over the repeated episodes, labeling the entire season as “disappointing,” somewhat understandable after what happened during the worst of the COVID pandemic.

One fan on X tweeted,“@OneChicagoCtr are we done with new episodes-this has been a pathetic season – one episode and a break, maybe one or two followed by another break.

That tweeter continued, “I know there was a strike but there should be some attempt to keep fans invested in the series.” But since the news broke that the OneChicago shows are making a comeback next week, fans have been buzzing with excitement about their beloved programs.
