Shakeup Among the Chicago P.D. Cast
Chicago P.D. has gone through its share of mixups. The CBS hit drama follows the lives of the highly sought-after detectives and officers in the 21st District of the Chicago Police Department. Sergeant Henry “Hank” Voight is the Chief of the Chicago P.D.’s Intelligence Unit.
There have been many departures on the show. The Chicago franchise has seen a massive shakeup. Chicago Fire’s Kara Killmer (Sylvie Brett) and Albert Rosendale (Blake Gallo) left the show. Chicago P.D.’s Upton is also departing after Season 11.
Fans wonder if Sergeant Hank Voight is also leaving Chicago P.D. His character went missing in recent episodes.

Is Sergeant Hank Voight Leaving?
In Season 11 of Chicago P.D., Sergeant Hank Voight went missing from the canvas. This brought up the speculation that the actor played by Jason Beghe was leaving the primetime show. In Episode 10 called “Buried Pieces,” Voight told Detective Hailey Upton he needed to leave town.
Chicago P.D. fans wondered if Voight’s character was gone for good. He revealed that he was only leaving town for a few days.
That means he could make a return to the show soon. Beghe talked about Voight’s abrupt departure in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in March 2024.
“I’ll always be a part of Chicago P.D. That, I know. I certainly have the interest,” Jason Beghe said. “And I think that NBC has the interest in both the show and Voight. So, I’m not done, I have more to do, and I’m anxious to do it. I love my job. I don’t know what the end is, whether it’s Thursday or Friday, but I supposed it’ll end at some point. But right now, I feel like I have stories to tell and a job to do.”
In another interview with NBC Insider, Beghe revealed that he’s returning to Chicago P.D. to say goodbye to Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), who’s leaving the show after Season 11.
“First of all, she’s somebody who I love and care about and respect,“ Beghe explained. “She will always be part of the shop. Even if she doesn’t come back and work with us, she’s part of my life and she’s part of the show. You know, she’s changed the show, and therefore even going forward, whether she’s in the episode or not, she’ll be part of the show.”
