The Resident spoilers and updates tease that Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry) is the only one who’s been featured in the show’s season 5 poster. The character can be seen standing in the operating room with his back turned towards the viewers. The tagline is written on his back and it says, “Healing starts within.”
The tone set by the poster was different from the mood that season 4 ended with. Fans may recall that Conrad was last seen with his wife, Nic, as they welcomed their newly born baby girl. Nic asked Conrad, “Have you ever seen anything so beautiful in your life?” to which he replied, “yes.”
The Resident’ – The Drama Continues in Season 5
In the new season, the drama will continue for the team of doctors in Chastain Park. According to the show’s logline, Conrad and the other doctors will continue to save the lives of their patients and fight the corruption that has spread in the healthcare system with the help of Big Pharma. Fans may recall that they helped Conrad and his team find a cure for sickle cell disease in season 4.
“Old relationships will be tested, new ones formed, and the emergence of a widespread Medicare fraud scheme ensures Chastain will never be the same,” according to the logline.
The Resident’ – Peter Elkoff Drops Hints On What To Expect On Season 5
The Resident co-showrunner Peter Elkoff didn’t reveal that much during his previous interview with TVLine. But he teased that by the time the first episode of season 5 is over, their loyal and beloved fans will be shocked with the changes that will take place at the hospital.
There has been a lot of changes in the show when season 4 ended. Shaunette Renée Wilson, who played Mina Okafor, left the show, while Anuja Joshi’s status was changed to series regular. Morris Chestnut, who played Barrett Cain, has joined the cast of Our Kind of People and that means he’ll be seen less on the fifth season of The Resident.
When asked about AJ Austin’s (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) love life, Elkoff teased that they may explore it again perhaps in the fifth season. But he didn’t say anything else. He added that fans will see the ramifications of the Big Pharma plot. Season 5 will have a lot of time to deal with the villains of the health care system since it is comprised of 23 episodes.
