Criminal Minds Revival: Six Cast Members Return?

Criminal Minds Criminal Minds spoilers and updates tease that six of the show’s original cast members will return for its revival for Paramount+. It’s been almost a year since news broke that the show will return but there were no announcements as to who the cast members will be.

Criminal Minds – The Return of Six Fan Favorites

Now, it’s been revealed that six fan favorites may reprise their role. The former cast members that may possibly return are Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alvez, AJ Cook as Jennifer “JJ” Jareau, Aisha Tyler as Dr Tara Lewis, and Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss.

Is Matthew Gray Grubler Reprising His Role?

These six actors were part of the show’s cast during its 15th and final season. As for Matthew Gray Grubler and Daniel Hanney, there were no reports of both actors being open to returning to the show.

Grubler has expressed his desire to move on from playing Spencer Reid, a character he’s portrayed for 15 years. As for Henney, he continues to star in The Wheel of Time, a Prime Video series, which has been renewed for two more seasons.

Criminal Minds Revival – Negotiations With Erica Messer

No official announcements have been made yet since their still finalizing their contracts. The final negotiations were reportedly delayed as ABC Signature strike a deal with Erica Messer, Criminal Mind’s showrunner and executive producer. Sources say that the negotiations are still ongoing and both parties are close to making a deal. There were also reports that Criminal Minds Revival will feature 10 episodes.

The above six actors are reportedly ready to make a deal once Messer and the powers that be come to an agreement. According to sources, the actor’s agreements will be multi-year and subject to their availability. They will also not be fully exclusive and will be allowed to take on other projects as long as production won’t interfere with their Criminal Minds’ shooting schedule.

Nicole Clemens, President of the Paramount+ Original Scripted Series said that Criminal Minds “is still very much in development.” But she promised that they will share more information soon and assured that Criminal Minds is “alive and well.”

The original Criminal Minds series was created by Jeff Davis. It follows the story of a group of FBI criminal profilers who are part of the Behavioural Analysis Unit.
