Doctor Who Premiered on New Year’s Day With a Shocking Return

Doctor Who

Doctor Who Season 12 returned on New Year’s Day in a big way. Jodie Whittaker’s take on the Time Lord showed her investigating a billionaire and encountering aliens that are up to nothing good. The best part of the episode of titled “Spyfall – Part One” showed a mystery that could shake up the Doctor and her TARDIS team. In the final seconds of the episode, the Doctor learned that ally O (Sacha Dhawan) is her archnemesis known as The Master, who’s been working closely with the aliens, according to a report via RadioTimes.

The Master also revealed something shocking on the Time Lord, which hints towards a new storyline for the rest of the series. “One last thing, something you should know in the second before you die,” The Master says. “Everything you think you know is a lie.” What does this mean for the Time Lord? It looks like this comment is directed towards the Doctor rather than her team. But the Master could also try to unravel the TARDIS team.

This has to do with something that the Doctor believes about herself or the world around her. Fans are trying to think what this mean. Some assume that the Time Lord could be harboring a dark secret. There are rumors of the new season revealing that the Doctor has more incarnations that we originally thought. It could also mean that the things that the Doctor thinks she knows have something to do with her character and background.

The Doctor understands she’s the hero. But this could throw her off her game and prevent her from traveling to the ends of the universe to help people. What if there’s more to her background? Has someone else been controlling the Doctor years? And if so, then who? What would they get out of this? It might have something to do with the aliens, reports Nerdist.
