American Horror Story Spoilers – Star Emma Roberts Faces Transphobic Claims
Angelica Ross has accused her American Horror Story co-star Emma Roberts of behaving in transphobic ways. And Ross, who is transgender, described what happened on the show’s set to cause her allegations. But Angelica claimed that the exchange left her “blood boiling,” according to Page Six.
And Ross recalled, “I’m standing in front of Emma, talking to her like this, and she’s in front of me, her back against the mirror. She goes, ‘John, Angelica‘s being mean’.” The comment reportedly referred to director John J. Gray, who directed two episodes of American Horror Story: 1984. “I know she’s not being for real,” added Ross.
“And John is like, ‘OK, ladies, that’s enough. Let’s get back to work.’ And she then looks at me and she goes, ‘Don’t you mean lady?’ And she turns around like this and covers her mouth [with her shirt].” However, Ross shared that after the other actress turned away, Emma couldn’t see her shock. “And I’m like, trying to process [what] the f**k she just said.”
American Horror Spoilers – Story Star Angelica Ross Hesitates To Speak Her Truth
And Ross shared that she stood there as Emma “walked away. My blood is boiling.” But Angelica revealed that she hesitated to speak her truth. “Because I’m like, if I say something, it’s gonna be me, that’s the problem. And I know this because there was someone who spoke up about what she was doing and they got repercussions from it. Not her — they did.”
As a result, Angelica shared that she “didn’t speak to [Emma] the entire time after that. So we had scenes together,” she recalled. “And I never spoke to her. She said to me she could feel the energy coming off of me. She was like, ‘Are you OK? You haven’t been talking.’ I’m like, ‘Mmmhmm.’”
And the American Horror Story actress warned, “Cause b**ch don’t play me. You’ve been playing mind games with everybody on the set,” Ross added. “And everybody’s been waiting for the moment that you would get me.” Ross and Roberts co-starred in the show’s ninth season. The American Horror Story episodes focused on the staff of a summer camp reopening after a massacre that took place 14 years prior.
