Great American Pure Flix Offers New Faith Drama Destination Heaven

Great American Pure Flix has announced its third original series since the platform merged with Sony’s streaming platform, Pure Flix last year. The new series is dubbed Destination Heaven and it stars Harry Lennix in the lead role as God. Read on to find out more about the new drama series.

Destination Heaven on Great American Pure Flix

Back in June 2023, Great American Media merged with Sony’s Pure Flix to stream original shows and movies. Having previously released two series, the latest news relates to the drama series Destination Heaven.

The drama miniseries Destination Heaven stars Harry Lennix (The Blacklist, Man of Steel) as God. Meanwhile, the six-episode series, which premieres May 24, follows God as he encounters people in many circumstances who all believe they are doing the right thing.

However, they discover that their approach to being good is just going through the motions, rather than growing emotionally or intellectually from the circumstance.

Who else stars in the drama series?

Each episode will feature appearances of the people God encounters, including well-known actors like Kevin Sorbo (Chosen), Emily Rose (Gotham Knights) and Tim Bensch (Chicago Fire).

According to Deadline, the newly combined network, Great American Pure Flix, is now the 24/7 streaming home for family and faith-based shows and movies. Among the movies for download, fans can watch Divine Influencer and Harvest Homecoming starring Trevor Donovan and Jessica Lownde.

Moreover, other movies available for streaming include Birthright Outlaw, starring Sarah Drew, and has also launched the original series, Going Home and County Rescue.

Before Great American Media merged with Pure Flix in June last year, the latter was known for its faith-based franchises, including God’s Not Dead. Moreover, Pure Flix was acquired by Sony Pictures Television in December 2020.

Behind the scenes of Destination Heaven

The new, faith-based drama series Destination Heaven is executive-produced by Dean Batali and David A.R. White. Meanwhile, Travis Mendel serves as a producer, while Jim Owens is the associate producer and Deanna Shapiro serves as line producer.

Moreover, the series is directed by Vance Null, Nathan Scoggins and Matt Shapira.
