HSMTMTS Creator Teases What’s to Come to Season 2: When’s the Premiere Date?

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series executive producer and showrunner Tim Federle is teasing some details of the new season. He sat down for an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight. During the interview, he was asked about the spring musical and where Season 2 will pick up.

“All I’ll say is, with the young cast, I want to hold on to them as long as possible,” Federle admitted. “So yes, storytelling-wise, we’re not going to do Fargo; we’re not jumping 20 years. But there’s still a lot of nitty-gritty work for me to work out. So, if I told you anything, that would be a lie. At this point, it’s all still pretty flexible.”

Then he was asked whether new characters will be introduced in the second season. “We announced that Seb is stepping up as a series regular, so he’ll be in every episode. I’m looking big picture and how we expand the show so that definitely includes the idea of new characters.”

He also revealed that some of the supporting actors will become full-time characters in the second season. But of course, there will be new characters. “But yeah, generally speaking in second seasons of shows, there are new faces and people to meet, so hopefully we’ll get some of that in our show too.”

Do you wish to wonder when the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 2 premiere date? Disney+ is working hard to get this done as soon as possible. According to Carter Matt’s blog post, season 2 is on tap for Fall 2020.

This release date is important to note due to the younger cast. It’s going to be increasingly hard for this show to work with some of the older cast members pretending to be teenagers in high school.
