One of those examples happened in October 2018 when speculation swirled that Supernatural star Jensen Ackles could appear as Batman in the Arrowverse. As the rumors became rampant, Stephen Amell had to address them. He revealed that both actors have expressed interest in having their characters meet, with Amell supporting the idea in several instances.
Legends of Tomorrow’s co-showrunner Phil Klemmer talked about the crossover in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. The episode is set to premiere on March 24 and will be titled “Zari, Not Zari.” The episode will show Charlie, Constantine, and Sara are looking through the trunk of a 1967 Chevrolet Impala. The vehicle is the same one that the Winchester brothers use to drive around on Supernatural. The episode also shows Sara holding up a sign which means that an episode of Supernatural is being filmed.
An Arrowverse and Supernatural crossover event work for many reasons. It introduces new intriguing storylines. It makes sense to combine the two most popular shows on the network. In addition, both series are filmed in British Columbia. But some fans never imagined the Winchester brothers meeting up with the famous DC characters. It’s the perfect plot for Legends of Tomorrow, which has introduced real-life into its sci-fi narratives.
Maybe Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki will make a cameo in a future Arrowvverse show, even long after Supernatural ends. They already played a fictional version of themselves in a classic installment of Supernatural.
