Sex And The City fans have enjoyed the revival, “And Just Like That.” And many cheered to learn that Kim Cattrall would make an appearance in season two. But does that mean Kim ended her Sex And The City feud with Sarah Jessica Parker?
Find out about the Sex And The City stars’ fallout. And learn about Cattrell’s appearance in “And Just Like That.” Get all the details below.
Kim Cattrall – Takes On Sex And The City Revival
When the Sex And The City revival’s season 2 finale airs, “And Just Like That” will include a surprising return. But Kim Cattrall will repeat her famous role as Samantha Jones for just one scene. And when Kim shot the scene, she managed to avoid the rest of the cast, according to Variety.
Cattrall filmed in New York City without any cast encounters. And she even avoided show-runner Michael Patrick King. But although Kim did not see or talk with other “And Just Like That” stars while she filmed, the scene will show a phone conversation with Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw. That scenario segues from season one of the Sex And The City revival.
During the premiere season of “And Just Like That,” Carrie contacted Samantha by using text. The two had become estranged. But the finale showed Carrie and Samantha planning to visit so that they could end their estrangement. And that cliffhanger set up the season 2 finale perfectly.

Kim Cattrall – Fans Cheer For Samantha’s Sex And The City Return
And though Cattrall reportedly will only make that one appearance as Samantha, fans went wild for her character’s return. Sex And The City scored high ratings on HBO for six seasons. And in addition to the TV series’ success from 1998 to 2004, the concept resulted in two films. But in 2016, Kim made a public announcement about her character.
And Cattrall scorned a proposed third film’s script. Because the actress felt like it didn’t fulfill her character’s promise, Cattrall claimed she had finished portraying Samantha. But that announcement sparked a feud with Parker.
As a result, when King and Parker planned to reboot Sex And The City, they did not reach out to Kim. And instead, the two brought in other characters. That led to questions about Kim, particularly since the revival featured the familiar characters of Carrie, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristen Davis). But despite claims from Parker and King that Cattrall would not portray Samantha again, an HBO exec persuaded Kim.
And during filming of season two of “And Just Like That,” Casey Bloys, the chairman and CEO of HBO and Max content, talked with Cattrall. As a result, Kim agreed to step into Samantha’s shoes once more. However, although season two of “And Just Like That” premieres on June 22, fans will need to wait until August to view Cattrall’s scene as Samantha.
