Billy Thornton’s ‘Landman’ character is not holding back, not even for the ladies of ‘The View.’ In the latest episode of the rural American drama, ‘Landman,’ Billy Thornton’s character Tommy gave his dad, T.L. (Sam Elliott), an interesting overview of what ‘The View’ is really about.
Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman’ Has Spoken: ‘The View’ “Hates” Millionaires and US President Donald Trump
The Western drama ‘Landman’ is skewering ‘The View’ right now, just a month after the show began airing episodes from its second season.
I have to say, it’s always funny when fiction takes some semblance of reality, and the way ‘Landman’ handled theirs is to take a potshot at ‘The View.’
In this new episode, we see T.L. reach out to his estranged son Tommy, and in the midst of their conversation, Tommy attempts to give his father suggestions on things he could do to happily while his time away.
“Read a book or watch TV — watch one of them daytime talk shows, you know, like The View or something,” Tommy suggests, and when a confused T.L wanted to know what ‘The View’ is, Tommy was only ready and willing to offer a scathing description.
“A bunch of pissed-off millionaires b—-ing about how much they hate millionaires and Trump and men and you and me and everybody else they got a bee up their a– about. It’s pretty funny,” Tommy says.
When T.L. goes on to assume that the show must be “pretty funny,” Tommy puts him right again by comparing their jokes to “farts in church.”
The ABC talkshow hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farrah Griffin has always had its share of critics, so this new one is like dropping a stone into the ocean.
As for its Anti-Trump views, Joy Behar attempted to smoothe this over by inviting Donald Trump to appear on the episode of ‘The View,’ where they could readily chat about a number of wide-reaching topics on politics.
Created by ‘Yellowstone’s’ Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, the show centers around the life of the billionaire Norris family as they interact with power players in the oil rig industry in West Texas. But get this, ahead of the show’s 2024 premiere, Thornton promoted the show on ‘The View.’
