The movie The Bad Seed Returns was set to premiere on Lifetime this coming Monday. However, in the wake of the Texas elementary school shooting, the decision has been taken to postpone. In the movie, McKenna Grace, the movie’s executive producer, co-writer and star reprises her role as Emma from the original movie The Bad Seed.

Grace took to social media to announce the postponement of the movie. She wrote:

In the wake of the recent tragedy in my home state of Texas, we have decided to delay the release of ‘The Bad Seed Returns.’ Lifetime and everyone involved are in agreement.

I don’t feel comfortable promoting the film this week and we don’t think Monday is the right time to release it.

Grace, 15, hails from Grapevine, Texas, continued, recalling that she was in first grade when Sandy Hook happened. She added that it feels like not much has changed since then. She remembers her parents teaching her emergency action plans for going to church or the movies. Meanwhile, the complete statement can be read in McKenna’s tweet below.

Lifetime – Plot Of Lifetime’s The Bad Seed Returns

The sequel to The Bad Seed features McKenna Grace as 15-year-old Emma, who seems to be a typical teenage girl. However, she is anything but that. The movie is set several years after the events of the first movie, which left Emma’s father dead. In the sequel, she is now living with her aunt Angela, while attending high school.

However, Angela’s husband starts to suspect that Emma isn’t as innocent as she seems and suggests they should send her to boarding school. Meanwhile, a new girl at the high school appears to know Emma’s secrets, which leaves her no choice but to slip back into her old ways. By doing so, she can then take care of her enemies by any means necessary.
