NCIS: Los Angeles has turned into another successful CBS drama. For more than a dozen seasons, the show delved into an NCIS division that focused on tracking down the most dangerous criminals. Add in false identities for the agents, super-charged technology, and a star-studded cast, and NCIS: Los Angeles has earned its devoted audience.
But in recent months, rumors have swirled that CBS will cancel the drama after season 13. True or false? Find out everything to know below!
Will CBS Cancel NCIS: Los Angeles After Season 13?
NCIS: Los Angeles saw the exits of two beloved stars in the season 12 finale. Barrett Foa, who portrayed Eric Beale, and Renée Felice Smith, who played Nell Jones, departed together. As a result, some fans speculated that CBS would end the show. But the drama continued, with NCIS: Los Angeles returning for season 13 last fall.
However, could CBS decide to wrap up with season 13? Rumors that NCIS: Los Angeles will end this season stem from falling ratings, reports Carter Matt. And if the network does decide to close down NCIS: Los Angeles sooner rather than later, early notice would give writers time to plan finales for all the characters. In addition, cast members like LL Cool J, who plays Sam Hanna, and Chris O’Donnell, who portrays G. Callen, would get time to snag new opportunities.
Thus far, though, CBS has held off on making any official announcements about renewals or cancellations for NCIS: Los Angeles. But a recent social media post, as we discuss below, offers a major clue!
NCIS: Los Angeles Spoilers – Star Posts HUGE Clue To Show Ending!
Portraying Marty Deeks on NCIS: Los Angeles, actor Eric Christian Olsen often shares photos of life on the set. And now Olsen shared a pic from the return of the drama after its holiday hiatus. But it’s not the photo that provides a shocking clue.
Instead, what Eric revealed in his caption could give away CBS’s decision on whether to cancel or renew NCIS: Los Angeles. Accompanying the photo of Olsen in his Marty Deeks outfit, Eric wrote, “We about to get back into it. #ncisla #whysoserious #Kensidown #thefinalseason #letsgo #newepisode #sunday #cbs.”
What does “the final season” mean? Has Olsen just accidentally spilled that NCIS: Los Angeles will end its run on CBS in 2022? Or has Eric unveiled his own departure from the drama?

Fans held a heated debate on the actor’s Instagram page. “sir what do you mean by #Kensidown and #thefinalseason. i am afraid,” wailed one worried NCIS: Los Angeles fan. Another attempted to reassure the viewer. “I think #kensidown is a nod to her not being in the episode that much because her actor, Daniela Ruah is directing it, just like the cover up of her being in mexico. And #finalseason i hope is because it could be a christmas themed episode. Last season of the year. But i hope its not the last season of ncis:la cause the show has neither been cancelled or renewed for a 14th season,” noted the fan.
What do you think? Do you agree that the “final season” reference could mean the last episode of the year getting filmed? Or do you think that Eric has decided to tease his fans? Share your views with us. And then check back on our site for more NCIS: Los Angeles news!
