New Amsterdam Spoilers – What Has NBC Revealed About New Amsterdam Season 4?
Thus far, NBC has shared that season 4 of New Amsterdam will air its first episode on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
And the network apparently sticks to the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” theory.
New Amsterdam season 4 keeps the time slot as the previous episodes. That puts the first episode on the schedule for 10 p.m. ET/PT time slot.
As for cast?
Look for Ryan Eggold to return in the starring role as New Amsterdam Medical Director Dr. Max Goodwin.
Responding to Dr. Goodwin’s “how can I help” questions are Janet Montgomery portraying Dr. Lauren Bloom, head of the emergency department, and Freema Agyeman, once again playing Dr. Helen Sharpe, head of oncology and deputy medical director.
One of the most popular stars, Tyler Labine, will thankfully reprise his role as attending child psychiatrist Dr. Iggy Frome. Dr. Frome has enchanted fans with his kind, compassionate way of seeking to help children in need.
New Amsterdam Spoilers – Who Won’t Return To New Amsterdam For Season 4?
Sadly, Dr. Vijay Kapoor (played by Anupam Kher) will be notable by his absence.
Season 3 of New Amsterdam showed what happened when Dr. Kapoor became dangerously ill with COVID-19.
And even though the talented staff of New Amsterdam managed to prevent Dr. Kapoor from dying, he continued to suffer.
Those post-COVID health issues ended with Dr. Kapoor giving up his position.
New Amsterdam Spoilers – Gets Two Additions For Season 4
In a surprising and intriguing twist for season 4, New Amsterdam will welcome not just one but two new stars!
First, Michelle Forbes will take on the role of Dr. Veronica Fuentes. This “fixer” comes across as determined to “reconstruct” New Amsterdam, according to TV Line.
Described as “calm, poised and fearless, Dr. Fuentes will prioritize wiping “clean the inept board.” As an indication of her style?
NBC chose an actress known for starring in “True Blood” and “Killing.” Look for Dr. Fuentes to tackle the financial problems.
In addition, New Amsterdam has added a deaf surgeon. Played by Sandra Mae Frank, this gifted doctor will prove that she’s up to the task.
Frank turned to Instagram recently to share her excitement.
“The news is finally out!” gushed Sandra. “I’m excited to be a part of the NBC New Amsterdam family.”
Frank also revealed that her character’s name is Dr. Wilder.
