S.W.A.T. Cast Member Calls Out Network, Shades Shemar Moore Spinoff 'Exiles'The future of Shemar Moore’s ‘S.W.A.T.’ has been up in the air for a few years now.  Despite decent ratings and a loyal fanbase, all good TV shows must come to an end at some point.

When CBS announced the ‘S.W.A.T’ cancellation, fans were devastated.  However, it was also revealed that there would be a S.W.A.T. spinoff and that softened the blow.

More details have been revealed about Shemar Moore’s S.W.A.T. spinoff, and a lot of people (including his cast members) are unhappy about it.  Keep reading for all the details, warning TV spoilers ahead!

According to new reports, the ONLY original cast member that will appear on the Exiles spinoff is Hondo (Shemar Moore’s character).  Fan favorites and veteran cast members weren’t thrilled with that part of the news.

David Lim (Officer Tan for 8 seasons) actually took to Instagram and posted a lengthy message regarding the spinoff and getting dropped by the series.

Lim wrote, “I’d be lying if I said the rollout of the new spinoff didn’t sting. It was tough to see it announced just two days after our finale—with no mention of the cast who helped build S.W.A.T. from day one.

After 8 incredible seasons, it felt like we were brushed aside when there could’ve been a moment of reflection and recognition—for the people who built this show, and for the impact it had on so many.”

The primetime star also mentioned how hard the cast and crew had fought for a new season and to avoid cancellation.  It’s understandable that he’s upset he wasn’t included in the spinoff after he tried so hard to help save the series.

The Officer Tan actor added, “I’m proud of how we fought for a ninth season. We believed we still had more to give, more stories to tell. We wanted it for our crew, for each other, and for the newer faces just joining us. It wasn’t in the cards for all of us—and that’s okay. We had a magical run and went out on a high note with those final two episodes.”

Do you think the network was wrong not to include more cast members in the spinoff and only hire Shemar Moore?  Will you miss David Lim and the rest of the cast?

I am so sorry that the rest of the cast was excluded from the spinoff. What a shame. SWAT was an excellent series. I would rather watch repeats of SWAT then to watch SWAt Exilled.
