When you want something caricatured properly, look to South Park. However, the long running Comedy Central series has decided to take a break from ribbing former president Donald Trump and return next year.
South Park – Goes On Hiatus “On Purpose”
South Park is one of those shows that’s not afraid to make fun and ridicule any celebrity, and I mean any celebrity. Sadly, they’ve grown so tired of tackling Donald Trump that they fear any new joke they make on the ex President’s head will come off as either a cheap shot or a repeat comedy.
So they’ve respectfully decided to skip this Presidential election by delaying the release of the show’s twenty-seventh season until next year.
“We’ve tried to do South Park through four or five presidential elections, and it is such a hard thing to—it’s such a mind scramble, and it seems like it takes outsized importance,” one of the show’s creators, Stone, told Vanity Fair.
While Stone admitted that the election is “obviously…f—ing important,” he did admit that it tends to take over “everything and we just have less fun.”
In addition to this, Parker pointed out that they “don’t know what more we could possibly say about Trump.”[

Since Stone and Parker started making the animated srries in 1997, they’ve tried their best to incorporate political comedy, as well as criticize anything that’s socially current at any one time.
In 2016, they ran a multiple episode arc where the character Mr. Garrison (voiced by Parker) goes up against Hillary Clinton in a presidential bid and comes out victorious. Mr. Garrison’s tenure as President lasted from season 20 through season 24.
With the creator’s confirming that no new episodes will be dropping for the rest of this year, it means that May’s Paramount+ special, ‘South Park: The End of Obesity’ is the only release the show has done in 2024.
Premiering on May 24, the show explored how the rise of weight loss drugs is taking over South Park’s social atmosphere. When Cartman is denied access to what is being deemed as a “life-changing medicine,” the kids “jump into action.”
At the time, singer-songwriter Lizzo commented on the show naming an Ozempic alternative drug after her. You can stream any episode of the show on Max.
