This past weekend, fans of Special Ops: Lioness saw the show’s big first season finale on Paramount+, which was originally released last month on July 23rd. This begs the question: will audiences see a “season 2”, or is this caput for the series, before it truly gets rolling?
Special Ops: Lioness Season 2: There’s A Reason For Hope
Fans should be hopeful that a Special Ops: Lioness Season 2 will eventually come to fruition, considering the success of the show’s first season, especially amidst the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.
Taylor Sheridan continues to prove that he can attract mainstream viewers with his storytelling, and it helps that he’s also able to solicit major Hollywood stars like Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman, who give such credibility to the series.
Not to mention Laysla De Oliveira and Zoe Saldana’s role in the show, who took more of a “lead role” within arcs.
Special Ops: Lioness Season 2: When Should Fans Expect To Hear News?
With the writer’s strike currently happening, it’s hard to say, but fans should hear about a possible Special Ops: Lioness Season 2 sometime in September or October of this year.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that the show’s second season will be premiering anytime soon, but it would offer some “good news”.
With that being said, thanks to the long and tedious process of script approvals and filming, not to mention organizing cast and crew schedules, the first episode of season 2 likely won’t air until the first have of 2025; especially if fans want the same cast to return.
There’s also that sticky strike to contend with, and it doesn’t seem as if things will settle anytime soon. Yes, 2025 seems very far away; however, it’ll be here before most fans realize it.
